These flavorful, Asian-inspired ribs are saucy, fall-off-the-bone tender, finger-licking good, and so much fun to eat! Serve them with a side of riced cauliflower or your favorite vegetable.

Yield: 4 servings

Serving size: 1/2 rack of ribs

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of pork baby back ribs (about 7lbs or 2594g)
  • 1/2 cup (120g) of Sesame Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. (6g) Chinese five-spice powder
  • water

Directions:

  1. Cutting through the meat between the bones, cut each rack in half to make four even, half-racks.
  2. Place ribs on a baking sheet and sprinkle them front and back with the five-spice to coat. Use your hands to rub the spice into the meat on both sides.
  3. Cover the baking sheet and refrigerate for one to two hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C)
  5. For an easy clean-up later, place the ribs bone side down in a large disposable roasting pan or a large roasting pan lined with aluminum foil.
  6. Fill the pan with about 1/4″ (0.635cm) water.
  7. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the center of the preheated oven. Cook covered for an hour or until a fork slides easily into the meat.
  8. Remove from the oven and uncover. Brush the tops and sides of each half rack liberally with sesame sauce.
  9. Place the pan back into the oven, uncovered. Cook for another 15 minutes until the meat has browned and the glaze has thickened.
